"Georgian Industrial Group” in cooperation with Polish partners is working on an innovative project of the construction of semi-coke production plant in Tkibuli. The innovative part of project implies that coke will be produced through new technological process discovered by the Polish party and will be initially launched under new industrial conditions. As for raw material, local coal from Tkibuli-Shaori coalfield will be utilised. It should be noted that the derived product - semi-coke - is high demand material in metallurgy, particularly in the production of ferroalloys.
At the first stage, two production lines of semi-coke will operate in the plant. The project will be implemented through a joint initiative of Polish and Georgian parties. The plant is expected to be commissioned by the year 2018.
